MADRID, January 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –
China’s new foreign minister, Qin Gang, has bid farewell to his post as ambassador to the United States with a message of thanks in which he admits he was “impressed” by the number of “hardworking, kind and talented” Americans who knew.
Qin has served as ambassador to Washington since July 2021, at a time of “serious challenges” for relations between the two powers. During that time, he has attempted to “act as a bridge” between Beijing and Washington to “enter a new era.”
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the people of the United States for the strong support and help they have given me towards the Chinese Embassy,” Qin wrote on Twitter, who has verified contacts maintained and toured the North American states in encrypted form through March 22 …
As ambassador, he boasts that he has made “many friends” and now hopes to continue working for dialogue as minister. In this sense, he has advocated “mutual respect” and “peaceful coexistence” without ever pointing to sources of political or commercial tension between Beijing and Washington.
