Xinhua Agency highlights that the Chinese government has urged the United States to abandon its foreign policy of hegemony and intimidation through the words of Wang Wenbin, spokesman for China’s Foreign Ministry.
The Chinese official said the White House is not used to hearing the truth and even less willing to face its problems.
The comments come in response to US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns tweeting about a report on Washington published by the Chinese side.
Wang noted, “The report does nothing more than tell the truth and objectively present the world with the United States’ hegemonic and intimidating behavior,” Xinhua is quoted as saying.
He also stressed that power and coercive diplomacy is not the way to behave as a powerful country and suggested that a US ambassador should tell Washington the real voice.
“The United States should refrain from pursuing hegemony or bullying, respect other countries’ sovereignty and territorial integrity, and pursue a path of peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial outcomes,” the Chinese official said.
