BEIJING, March 6 (Xinhua) — Senior Chinese leaders Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang and Li Xi attended the deliberations of the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) on Wednesday. Li Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, called on Guangdong Province to take the lead in promoting China's modernization and participate in deliberations with the APN deputies the province.
Li called on the province to push forward reform and opening-up with greater determination and efforts, promote coordinated development between regions and between urban and rural areas, improve people's living conditions and promote high-quality development.
Along with economic and agricultural policy advisers, Li said China will continue to implement proactive fiscal policies and prudent monetary policies this year.

Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, attended a group meeting of political advisers from the fields of literature, art and sports. Cai also called for efforts to promote deeper integration of culture and tourism and widely introduce public fitness activities.
Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese Vice Premier, attended a meeting of political advisory groups of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions.
Ding underscored his support for Hong Kong to complete the legislative process of Article 23 of the Basic Law of the HKSAR as soon as possible, stressing the need to refine systems and mechanisms to protect national security in Macau and ensure firm and sustained implementation of the “One -State “ensure “two systems”.
