Chris Brown is fighting back after receiving criticism for supporting Kanye West at a listening party for his latest single.
The 34-year-old R&B artist was seen in a video clip shared on “I just f**ked a Jewish b**ch,” rang loudly over the speakers.
After comments like “You’re disgusting” and “What’s more disgusting?” The lyrics… Or the fact that both Kanye West and @chrisbrownofficial find it hysterical?’ were posted in response to the viral video, the Go Crazy artist quickly took to social media to defuse the situation.
Referring to Chris Brown’s infamous attack on Rihanna in 2009, one angry critic wrote: “Chris Brown is a perpetrator and Kanye West is a psychotic, narcissistic, self-proclaimed mastermind.”
On Sunday, the How We Roll singer posted the following statement on Instagram.
Denial: Chris Brown is fighting back against criticism that he is anti-Semitic after a viral video that showed him dancing to the Kanye West song “Vultures.”
“I am in no way anti-Semitic!!!”
“I am pro-life and make music for the whole world!!!!!! So please don’t think that I’m spreading hate or that I’m cool with it!
He shared the statement on Instagram Stories, but added the addendum, stating: “This is for the millions of little children who look up to you and who confuse me.”
The Pills & Automobiles artist has come a long way to rebuild his career after legal troubles. That included pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna in 2009 and being sentenced to anger management treatment in 2013.
Since then he has been accused of assault on several occasions.
Like Kanye, 46, the singer was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He was also diagnosed with post-traumatic disorder.
Late last year, Kanye saw his career unravel after a series of anti-Semitic outbursts, including vowing to play Death Con 3 against JEWISH PEOPLE.
In October 2022, shortly after that tweet, the “Praise God” rapper told Piers Morgan that he only targeted certain Jews who he felt had exploited him.
Incendiary: The song contains the inflammatory lyrics “How am I anti-Semitic?” “I just f**ked a Jewish b**ch,” and Chris and other guests at the party were seen singing along to the controversial rapper’s controversial single danced
Statement: Chris issued a statement on Instagram on Sunday denying allegations that he was anti-Semitic, saying he made it for the benefit of “the millions of little children who look up to him.”
Anti-Semitic: 46-year-old Kanye West’s career foundered last fall due to a series of anti-Semitic outbursts, including vowing to “put Jewish people to death”
When the talk show host claimed the comments were “as racist as anything you’ve been through,” the Gold Digger rapper replied, “That’s why I said that. ‘I fought fire with fire.’
In an interview with right-wing talk show host Alex Jones in early December, Kanye praised Hitler for his “redemptive qualities.”
He also claimed that “the Holocaust is not what happened” and promoted the conspiracy theory that blacks are the real Jews.
The consequences of these statements were that the hitmaker lost his lucrative contracts with The Gap, Adidas and Balenciaga among others.
He was also fired by his management team at Creative Artists Agency.
Chris’ fans seemed willing to trust the claim that he was not an anti-Semite.
Actor and producer Elijah Long, who has a home in Dubai where the party was held, wrote: “I’m so tired of tap dancing around ‘her’!” It’s sad that we have to make such statements. We’ll soon cut the umbilical cord that connected them to us! It has strangled us for far too long.’
Give him the benefit of the doubt: Many of the hitmaker’s fans seem willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. “They always try to pull the anti-Semitic card, but yet people are allowed to bash black and brown people all day long in the name of free speech,” declared one fan (pictured in Los Angeles in October 2022)
Palestinian Cause: Some fans credited Chris for supporting the Palestinian cause in the current hostilities between Israel and Hamas. “It’s not anti-Semitism to support Palestine.” “It just makes you human if you don’t agree with innocent children dying,” claimed one fan (pictured in Atlanta in June 2019).
“They always try to pull the anti-Semitic card, but yet people are allowed to bash black and brown people all day in the name of free speech,” one fan explained.
“Damn champ why don’t they let you live, you just dance and mind your business,” wrote another supporter.
Although the hitmaker appears to have made no official statements regarding the current hostilities between Israel and Hamas, many praised him for his support of the Palestinian cause.
