Chris Brown says he plans to move from California.

The Grammy-winning singer, 35, posted the news about his relocation plans on Instagram on Sunday.

“LA, it was FUN,” said the Tappahannock, Virginia native. “Cali will always be my second home, but I think it’s time for me to try something different,” added a heart emoji.

The Forever artist is one of many celebrities who have moved away from California in recent years, with many citing high tax rates, rising crime rates and differing political philosophies as reasons for their departure.

Celebrities who have left the state in recent years include Joe Rogan, Rod Stewart, Mark Wahlberg, Hilary Swank, James Van Der Beek, Dean Cain and Josh Brolin.

Brown did not comment on specific regional issues in connection with his decision to leave.

The No Guidance actor has faced a number of problems in his Tarzana, California neighborhood over the years, involving noise complaints and other incidents.

He presumably angered his neighbors in November 2019 when he held a two-day flea market that attracted dozens of fans to the house, causing long lines along the street and traffic jams in parking lots.

California serves as the backdrop for the infamous incident in which Brown struck his then-girlfriend Rihanna in a vehicle in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles on February 8, 2009, after a pre-Grammys party.

In June 2009, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in connection with the incident.

Earlier this year, Brown posted a series of statements on social media in which he said he felt he had been treated unfairly in the 14 years since the incident, with his name being booed at industry events and inextricable from the incident is connected to the superstar singer.

Brown took to social media on Friday, Feb. 24, to lambast his critics for repeatedly mentioning the brutal assault that sent her to the hospital.

The latest wave of criticism was sparked by Chloe Bailey’s announcement that she had collaborated with him on her single “How Does It Feel”.

In a flurry of posts shared on his Instagram Stories, Brown attempted to draw focus to other celebrities he believed had been released due to previous domestic violence allegations; and that he couldn’t get the second chance that he felt so many other celebrities had been given.

“If you still hate me for a mistake I made as a 17-year-old, please kiss me with all your heart!” he began in his most recent posts. “I’m fucking 33!” I’m so sick of you guys putting up with this narrative.

“You weird idiots are the same ones who tune in every week to watch Blueface and Chrisean beat each other up in front of the world.” But that’s okay? It’s entertainment? Y’all can disrespect my ass,” he wrote.

Chris continued to try to deflect attention by naming other celebrities who have been accused of crimes similar to the one he pleaded guilty to in court.

“Where’s the cancel culture with these white artists dating underage women, beating up their wives and giving them b**** AIDS?” he began.

‘Oh. Exactly, these are your friends. No more fake love from me. Get out of my way or you’ll just get run over!

He concluded with, “None of you, and I mean none of you… can fuck me.”

He added to his Instagram Stories a long list of stars accused of domestic violence, including Sean Penn, Mel Gibson, Nicolas Cage, Ozzy Osbourne, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Slash, Charlie Sheen, Steven Seagal, Christian Slater and Josh Brolin , Tom Sizemore, Mickey Rourke and the late James Caan.
