“Things he did, he was great. My son was, is and will always be an inspiration.”

Speaking to the camera, Chris later adds, “Your son… they never, ever leave you. They are always with you. Always.

“My son Sebastian is much more than I could ever explain to you.

“The tragedy of losing a 29 year old son, imagine crying so much and then months later being thankful that you cried so much for your son. It wasn’t a teardrop, it was an ocean.”

At the time of Sebastian’s death in 2021, Chris wrote a heartfelt tribute on social media, telling his fans, “I never thought I would write those words or experience the feeling I have now at the loss of my son.

“My family and I are devastated to learn of Sebastian’s death just days before his 30th birthday.

“Sebastian grew up in Hove, England but for the last few years has lived his life in Dubai where he has had a large circle of friends and has been at the forefront of promoting healthy living and alternative therapies.

“Sebastian was not only a personal trainer and boxer, but also a deep thinker who liked to challenge accepted wisdom.

“He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will forever be in the thoughts of friends and family.”

Sebastian was also a boxer and lived in the United Arab Emirates with his wife Salma Abdelati, 42, and son Raheem, who was born 32 days before his father’s death.

Salma said she hopes her son Raheem, now two, will become a heart surgeon in memory of his father, who went by the name Alka Lion and fought in two professional bouts and won both.

Father Chris told Good Morning Britain after the tragedy: “I cannot tell you how proud I am of this man. He was my son and I loved him.

“Every moment we shared was my favorite moment, but there were so, so many moments I missed when we weren’t together.”

Salma wants her son to be a surgeon and says: “If he studies athletics on the side, I wouldn’t mind. For me, he must have a job that helps people.”

The 41-year-old, who lost her father shortly after her husband, added: “Seb was so proud of his father and felt very close to him. It was a deep and spiritual relationship. I see many similarities between them.”

The Sudanese native, who grew up in the UK, said she overheard the boxing legend saying to her son: “You’re amazing” and “It’s really, really beautiful,” which was reassuring.

She thinks the “pure” Sebastian “would want me to be happy and move on”.

Scared of the Dark will air five nights from Sunday 16th to Thursday 20th April at 9pm on Channel 4.
