People magazine has named actor Chris Evans this year’s Sexiest Man Alive.
The reveal came on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with the help of John Oliver and Dwayne Johnson.
In a play that aired on the showOliver sat in the show’s audience as Colbert announced the winner of two finalists – Oliver and Evans, whom Colbert called a “red-hot supernova of sharpness.”
When Evan’s name was announced, an angered Oliver prompted the audience to boo and angrily stormed out, demanding a “recount” as he left.
The former Captain America star, who was unable to appear on the show, was instead congratulated by Johnson on the set of her film Red One.
“It means a lot coming from a former Sexiest Man Alive,” Evans tells Johnson in the video.
However, Johnson, a cover star of 2016’s “Sexiest Man,” further corrects him: “I’ll never give up the title…I’m Sexiest Man Alive forever, which means it’s for life.”
Evans, confused, tries to get some clarification, but Johnson stops him.
“Let me ask you a question, brother. am I alive? … am I still sexy? You bet your sexy mouth it’s me. We share it!”
Evans agrees and the two most handsome men in the world seem to be living happily ever after. But not before Johnson prompts his co-star to say something “sexy” into the camera, and Evans obeys.
“Go vote tomorrow.”
