The best signal for Chris! Chris Pine and Tandiu Newton star in All The Old Knives, a feature adaptation of Ellen Steinhauer’s novel. They both play Henry and Celia, CIA agents and exes who are forced to return to each other’s lives after years apart. Naturally, they still have amazing chemistry.
Things get a little more complicated than the inconvenience of breaking up with a colleague and still having to see them in the office – Henry investigates Celia for potentially being a double agent who hijacked a plane. It also seems that Henry has his own checkered past to take into account. What is the truth behind the horrific case of the CIA? More importantly, will Henry and Celia reunite?
From the trailer, it looks like it’s a spy movie that focuses more on mind games and seamlessly cool outerwear than action kits, and there’s definitely room for both when the coats look so good. (Newton also wears a beret at one point and looks great.)
If you are a fan of both stars, you have something to expect this year. Newton is facing the fourth season of Westworld and the spin-off Big Mouth Human Resources, while Pine is starring in The Contractor and Don’t Worry Darling. Like the rest of us, he has just learned that he must return aboard the USS Enterprise to reprise his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the fourth Star Trek movie, scheduled for 2023.
All The Old Knives also includes Lawrence Fishburne and Jonathan Price and was directed by Janus Metz (The Real Detective). It will be available in theaters and will be broadcast on Prime Video on April 8.
