Chris Rock accuses Amber Heard of lying at Johnny Depp trial

Comedian Chris Rock recalled the legal battle between actors Amber Heard and Johnny Depp on one of his recent comedy shows. “Believe in all women except Amber Heard,” Rock said at a concert in London, according to Vanity Fair magazine.

At the time, the comedian tried to make a joke out of Starling Jenkins’ statement to Depp’s security that Heard defecated in the actor’s bed in 2016. “What the hell is she doing? She’s in his bed!” Rock explained.

Heard and Depp have been suing each other in a Virginia court since April 11. The trial comes after Depp is suing his exwife for $50 million for publishing an opinion piece in the Washington Post newspaper in which he claimed he was a victim of domestic violence while she was married to the actor. Amber Heard then sued Depp for $100 million.

The case has escalated its repercussions as testimonies in court become known. In a statement Monday, Heard said she was shirthanged by her exhusband in 2015 during the couple’s honeymoon. “Every time he would pull me away from the side of the car, he would throw me against the wall,” the actress said. “He ripped off his shirt and wrapped it around my neck.”

In another statement, Depp claimed Heard threw a bottle of vodka at him during an altercation, resulting in a finger injury. In turn, Heard said the actor hit her with one hand while slamming a hard plastic phone against the wall with the other, inflicting the wound on himself. She also accused him of ripping off her nightgown, grabbing her breasts and strangling her.

Depp and Heard met on the set of the movie “Diary of a Drunken Journalist” in 2011, married four years later, and separated in May 2016 with a $7 million divorce settlement.
