If you want to reach your goal, you will always find a way. For example, there is a lot of talk about how beauty pageants serve as springboards to launching the media careers of contestants who dream of it. However, little is said about similar cases and in the male universe.

Recently, and at the premiere of the second season of Ana de la Reguera series Ana de la Reguera, Peruvian actor Christian Meier had the opportunity to talk about his beginnings in the entertainment world. The occasion also gave the gallant a chance to clarify, with plenty of humor, that he hasn’t retired from acting, despite many believing the opposite.

Although Meier started out as a singer and songwriter, acting was the field in which he achieved the most success and which brought him international recognition and fame. This change of rudder declares a personality willing to take some detours to reach the intended goal.

“La Malquerida” was his last participation in a telenovela together with the famous Mexican actress Victoria Ruffo. Since then, in 2014, many think the Peruvian has ended a career that today’s sun totals nearly four decades.

The truth is, it was Meier’s decision to retire after such a long time acting in soap operas. In his own words, he grew tired of “praying to the Virgin, yes.” Despite this, there is no rejection or criticism of the past. “It’s a genre that’s been with me for a long time and I think it’s a universe to explore and a lot of fun,” he added.

That the soap operas provided him with economic and professional capital was necessary to be able later to cut the umbilical cord that had nourished him for so long. When the time came, Meier disappeared from the soap opera credits in 2014, but continued to play roles in films and streaming platforms.

“I devoted myself to projects that caught my attention and finally when I got home after work, the satisfaction was much greater,” confessed the Peruvian. It is worth noting that, in parallel, he occasionally returned to music, his first passion, although it was not a formal return to the field.

Her participation in the series “Ana” allowed her to meet up with an old friend, Ana de la Reguera, and share moments from her past with her.

“Ana and I did a soap opera called Luciana and Nicolás 20 years ago. At the time we didn’t think it would have any relevance, we were younger, but it’s incredible that 20 years later it served to make this second season.

The truth is that his experience as a heartthrob and the chemistry with his colleague opened the doors for Meier to be part of this project. “This character I’m playing is also a kind of homage and mockery at the same time,” says the actor with the confidence of someone who has no plans to return to pink melodrama. We’ll have to wait and see if a hefty offer gets him out of the way again.
