Christina Aguilera reveals that the creativity and excitement of being in Las Vegas sparked the desire to write songs for a new album

Christina Aguilera is the latest high-profile superstar to head to the lights of Las Vegas for her very own residency.

While promoting upcoming dates after the Dec. 30 opening at the new Voltaire Belle de Nuit at the Venetian Resort, Xtina talked about how the show's planning, production and performances “fueled” her creativity, which she now looks to one new studio album.

It has been about six years since she released her last English-language album, Liberation (2018), which included the singles Accelerate, Fall in Line and Like I Do.

As a result, fans are probably craving a range of new songs to include in playlists.

The resurgent Aguilera also talks about her professional wish list, which she says is constantly growing and evolving, in a new interview with Vegas Magazine.

With her self-titled debut celebrating its 25th anniversary later this year and the eight additional albums that followed, Aguilera has a lot of songs to draw from for her residency.

Some of the classics from early in her career, like Genie In A Bottle and What A Girl Wants, are often reworked to keep them new and fresh for fans and herself as an artist.

Although acting has always been at the top of her passion list, the seven-time Grammy winner also noted that planning the new production is something she takes great pride in working with her team.

“Creative direction of the show is a true labor of love and draws inspiration from a variety of sources: the lights of Vegas, the splendor of Voltaire, my music, fashion, burlesque, creative Parisian references and more,” she said about it on the stage incorporated into the final product.

“I always try to push my artistic boundaries and do things I've never done before, always trying to offer something new and fresh and give the audience a unique experience,” she explained.

It seems that all the artistic creativity that went into the residency sparked an inner call to get back into the studio to write and record new songs for a new album.

“It's great to be on stage because this new show in Vegas is really inspiring my creativity,” she revealed, adding: “I've been working on experimenting with new sounds and writing new lyrics.” In recent times A lot has happened in six years – big personal and professional changes, growth and new inspiration, so I'm really excited to share it all on the next album!'

Given everything she's accomplished after 25 years in the music business, you'd think there wouldn't be much, if anything, left on her career list. But think again.
