According to police, the 18-year-old, who was in critical condition, succumbed to his injuries at the Wiener Neustadt State Hospital. Several locals detonated ball bombs just before 12:30 am on New Year’s Eve in a field in St. Louis. Johann am Steinfelde, a cadastral municipality of Ternitz. It is likely that the dead person was in the immediate vicinity of the firework when the explosion occurred, and a colleague was seriously injured. He has now died in the hospital.

A 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were taken to either the Wiener Neustadt State Clinic or a hospital in Graz with injuries. Ball bombs would be category F4 fireworks, for which a pyrotechnic pass is required. It is still not known where they came from.
