Shortly after 7 am, the threatening phone call was received against the vocational and further training centers in Rorschach and Altstätten. Schools were evacuated and then searched by the police. At 9 am, the police managed to clear everything because no abnormality was found.

500 people affected

As a security measure, both school buildings were closed on Wednesday. About 500 students and teachers are affected, most of whom were informed before classes started. Schools will resume normal operation on Thursday.

For tactical reasons, the St. Gallen did not disclose what the anonymous caller threatened to do. Despite the possibility that a false alarm was triggered, police are taking the threat seriously.

Amok threat at Dornbirn school

In November of the previous year, an anonymous caller threatened a shooting at Dornbirn-Haselstauden secondary school. A 16-year-old from Burgenland could be investigated – more on that in Amok Threaten: 16-year-old confesses.
