Seniors in Saint-Isidore in the Chaudière-Appalaches region are having to relocate because their CHSLD is changing vocations.
There are therefore 33 seniors from the CHSLD of Saint-Isidore who will have to move to the Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon retirement and replacement home in the autumn.
Although many seniors don’t necessarily view this move negatively, as the retirement home is a new facility, the staff sees things very differently.
Several employees even feel cheated.
“Absolutely because a month and a half ago we were toyed with telling us it wasn’t going to close, don’t worry. And then last Tuesday we knew we had to go,” said housekeeper Annie Jeffrey.
“Even that they told us that there are plans, that it was accepted, then that the center will be renovated. Then there was a completely different twist, that’s not it at all,” lamented Sabia Robert, beneficiary supervisor.
