Emily Blunt revealed on Thursday night's Jimmy Kimmel Live! that Oppenheimer co-star Cillian Murphy smashed her head in the most unlikely way. The actor was injured when he fluffed a pillow she had given him to sleep on during filming.

Blunt, Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. were all on the show.

Murphy's accident began when he was given a special pillow to help him sleep well.

“I just felt it [what] “Cillian needed more than just food in this film, she needed sleep,” said Blunt. “So I got him this very beautiful pillow that I'm obsessed with… it's a Hästens pillow.

“One night he was really enjoying himself in that pillow, and he woke up in the middle of the night – he told me that the next day – and he wanted to flop back into the pillow because he misjudged where it was, and hit his head on the nightstand.

“So he came to work and they had to tape his head shut!” Blunt said.

“I was a little shocked, you know!” Murphy replied. “I slept well and had this great pillow, a strange bed, a strange table, [and] Bang.”

Murphy then called the film's makeup artist, Luisa Abel, to help heal the wound.

“We got up before it got light, like 2 a.m. or something like that, 3 a.m.,” he said. “So then I called her and I just walked in and then she taped my head and covered it all up and I don't think you even see it in the movie.”
