Cindy Crawford reveals she hired a COACH to deal with stress and may be having a ‘midlife crisis’

Cindy Crawford is still high on her playing field in her supermodel career, but she’s had to make some adjustments when it comes to how she handles her day-to-day life.

Appearing on the cover of Haute Living, the 56-year-old Fair Game star revealed she uses a “coach” to help her decide how to comfortably live her life in her 50s.

“I started working with a coach this year and one of the things she talks to me about is time. Specifically, where do I feel constrained and where does it stress me out?” she told the publication.

And the beauty also joked about maybe having a mid-life crisis, feeling “free” after Burning Man and how she’s learned to take life at a slower pace, in a very rare unsupervised interview that gave an exclusive first got a look.

Crawford is a planner.

She is also very organized and takes exactly the time she needs for any given activity.

“Let’s say I finish my workout at 9:30 a.m. and have my first call of the day at 10 a.m., so I have half an hour to shower and pull myself together,” she explained.

“But let’s say my husband wants to talk to me. I found myself looking at my watch like I had three minutes and then he would be irritated or I would feel the stress of knowing I wouldn’t have time to put on makeup right now.

“It never occurred to me that I might delay my first meeting a bit because I was just so focused on being efficient.”

Crawford admits she was too Type A.

“For so long I could only write down anything I wanted to do. For example, I always enjoyed being first in the house, even when my kids were little, because it took me 20 minutes when nobody needed anything from me,” the star said.

“So I’d get up early and use an outdoor hot tub, put on some gym clothes and check my email.

“Taking that hot tub meant I had taken the time to connect with myself. I’ve never really scheduled unplanned time, and I think I’m doing more of it. Now I’m finding ways to give myself more breathing room. And that’s where I stand in my life, allowing a little more leeway for the unexpected.”

The looker also spoke of going to Burning Man with her daughter, Kaia Gerber.

‘[My daughter] and I was invited by a friend of ours kind of last minute and we said why not? She said.

“It just seemed perfect because we were getting together with people who had been there before, so we didn’t have to think about anything except what to pack, which was intimidating enough by the way.”

It was only two days and two nights.

“So I figured I could do anything for 48 hours. And it ended up being a really incredible experience,” she admitted.

When asked to describe Burning Man, she said, “I mean, listen, it’s raw. You feel uncomfortable because it’s dusty and dirty, but it’s very creative, Mad Max meets Alice in Wonderland meets Virtual Reality.

“It’s just wild and very liberating because in a way you’re outside of yourself. It’s not like, oh, my outfit looks good, so I feel good. I’ve only experienced something like this once when I spent a month in an African wildlife park; I literally only had a tiny hand mirror to brush my teeth with.

“Like back then, the way you looked here didn’t determine how you felt that day. It was incredibly liberating.’

And in that wild, dirty atmosphere, Crawford felt a sense of calm.

“I didn’t understand it before, but now I feel that way. For me, it was like you’re so out of your comfort zone in every way that you have no choice but to find yourself,” Cindy said.

“We all walk around in reality and have stepped into these roles — mother, wife, whatever — that I signed up for all roles, but there are things that come with those roles, like responsibility.

“In my family, for example, I’m the organizer, I’m the punctual one, I’m the more serious one.

“And I think it’s easy to get caught up in those roles and feel introspective about it. Like, who am I? I do not know. Maybe I’m going through a midlife crisis right now,” she added.

When she was at the festival, she dropped the labels mother, supermodel, cover girl.

“I think when you’re in Burning Man you shed those skins and just be yourself. You are your own essential being.

“I feel like it’s a great place to just reconnect with your true self,” she shared.

She also noted that she was happy to spend some quality time with her 21-year-old daughter.

“I’ve been very fortunate because I have some fun things to do with my daughter. We did the Off White runway show together in Paris and it wasn’t like I was there as her mother or she was there as my daughter – we were both invited to take part in the show.

And then there’s something like Burning Man.

“I mean I’m sure she would have loved to have her boyfriend with her and I would love to go with my husband someday but we ended up going together and we had a great time.

“I love doing everything with her, but you should also be careful about letting her have her experiences without mom looking over her shoulder.

“For example, she turned 21 [at the festival]. The next night she had a little dinner which I went to and then a party at a club which I didn’t do.’

When she returned home, she felt different.

“When I came back I was fine, feeling so carefree and fun, at the playa, riding my bike, with no schedule. It’s like, oh, let’s look at this piece of art, and then you drive there and you stay either five minutes or an hour.

“But then you come back to reality, to your life, and I personally felt like I’m the responsible mom again now. I am this, I am that. And now I’m wondering, at this point in my life, do I still want to be all the things that I’ve unconsciously signed up to be?
