The summer of 2024 will be a country summer for Cirque du Soleil. The Quebec company just announced it will be launching a new touring show next year. The new creation, in collaboration with Universal Music Group Nashville, will celebrate country music.
“Our collaboration with Universal Music Group Nashville represents an excellent opportunity to expand our creative horizons and reach new audiences while penetrating the fascinating world of country music entertainment,” said Stéphane Lefebvre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil , in a press release.
This new show, whose title has not yet been announced, “combines in perfect harmony captivating acrobatics and soulful melodies from country music legends and contemporary artists,” says Cirque. “Cirque du Soleil and country music are deeply rooted in the art of storytelling, the creation of powerful emotions and the ability to captivate young and old. They embody the themes of love and resilience without forgetting the breathtaking performances.” »
“The opportunity to showcase our incredible catalog and bring the history of country music to life in a theatrical setting will allow our music to live on for a new generation of audiences and country music fans,” stated Cindy Mabe, President and CEO of Universal Music Group Nashville.
The show will premiere in July 2024 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville. Cirque is hosting auditions for singers and multi-instrumentalists in Nashville from December 4th to 7th.
