The Wittenberg district court sentenced Reich citizen Peter Fitzek to eight months in prison without parole on Thursday. According to a spokesperson for the District Court of Dessau-Roßlau, the Halle native was found guilty of intentional bodily harm and insult. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
aggression and insult
According to the court, Fitzek pushed a woman against a door during a verbal argument at the Wittenberg district office building last year and kicked her with his foot. The 57-year-old man insulted two Bundeswehr people who wanted to help. Fitzek’s defense reportedly asked for an acquittal.
citizen of the reich
The so-called “Reichsbürger” are people who do not recognize the Federal Republic of Germany as a sovereign state and reject its democratic structures. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution attributed around 23,000 supporters to the “Reichsbürger” and “Selbstverwalter” scene. According to estimates by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, some of them must also be violent and right-wing extremists.
Fantasy state “Kingdom of Germany”
Fitzek founded the self-invented “Kingdom of Germany” in Wittenberg in 2012 and appointed himself head. The protection of the constitution spoke of a state of fantasy. The autonomous bodies have their own administrative structures in which, among other things, “Reich driving licenses”, “Reich business licenses” and “Reich passports” are issued. The documents have no legal force.
