Police were mobilized en masse Monday night between the Rive and Bel-Air. It is a call for looting that has spread on social networks, especially TikTok, and has obviously been taken seriously.
Certain downtown businesses, such as Fnac or Foot Locker, were particularly affected by these threats. At 8 p.m., the first call to action was made. The second for 10pm. The broadcasters call on “all parts of the city to mobilize” and bring back firecrackers and other smoke bombs.
Ultimately, there will be no attacks on companies on site, probably thanks to the strong police presence. However, checks were carried out throughout the evening on the numerous groups of young people wandering around the Rues-Basses. Groups of three to four teenagers but not a gathering. They come from Lignon, Thônex, Charmilles, some are very young.

The police are present in large numbers on foot, by car, on motorcycles, in all adjacent streets and squares. Several private security companies also patrol.
Some young people are arrested, searched and asked to return home. One of them tries to escape a check and is caught by the agents while he falls, carrying a display of postcards. Police found another man wearing a balaclava and gloves.
“We’re checked every two seconds, brother, cowardly, not a bit proud, a teenager with a changing voice. It’s almost 10 p.m. Plainclothes policewomen address a group of minors around the age of fifteen: “We can’t stay there.” Going home. It’s almost time.” Reaction in the heart of the young trio: “But my lady, we will not close any stores.”
At 11 p.m., a fight broke out in Eaux Vives. In Meyrin, buildings are shot at with firecrackers. Police night is not over yet.
