Sao Paulo. Actress Claudia Alencar, 73, underwent successful spinal surgery on Sunday afternoon (24), her press office announced. Claudia has been in the hospital for a week with a serious bacterial infection.

What happened to Claudia Alencar?

The operation looked for the source of infection. On Saturday evening (23), the doctor had informed the actress' team that he would perform an operation to analyze which bacteria caused the infection.
The frame is stable. Previously, she even needed a blood transfusion to treat anemia.
One of the bacteria has already been identified. According to the press office, Claudia had Staphylococcus aureus.
