AEW has fired CM Punk, according to a press release issued Saturday evening.
Tony Khan’s promotion released a statement on social media to announce the firing of CM Punk, at the conclusion of the internal investigation into the incident between the wrestler and Jack Perry that occurred backstage at All In. This was confirmed by Tony Khan himself.
“The dismissal follows a week-long internal investigation into an incident that occurred behind the scenes at AEW – All In London on Sunday, August 27th. » we can read about it in the press release. “Following the investigation, the AEW Disciplinary Committee met and subsequently met with outside counsel before unanimously recommending that Khan fire CM Punk. »

In the same press release, Tony Khan claims that the decision to fire CM Punk was his sole decision. “Phil has played an important role in AEW and I thank him for his contribution. It is my sole decision to terminate his contract for cause. Of course, I wish I didn’t have to share this information, which may seem like a disappointment to many of our fans.
