CNN’s Jim Sciutto after a ‘bad fall’ from the air: report

Longtime CNN host Jim Sciutto will not appear on his weekly morning show for some time after he was reportedly ordered to take “personal leave.”

A media source told the Chron that Sciutto would be taking time off from the network after the host failed to appear on Tuesday or Wednesday’s episodes of CNN Newsroom. Sciutto’s latest article was published on Monday.

Last month, The Daily Beast’s Confider reported that Sciutto was the subject of an internal CNN investigation earlier in the year after suffering a “bad fall” in Amsterdam.

According to the September exclusive report, Sciutto had returned home from a reporting trip to Ukraine to cover the Russian invasion when the incident took place.

“Although colleagues took direct flights home from Poland, Sciutto and his producer made a stopover in the Dutch capital, where the accident happened. We understand Sciutto has since recovered from the incident but was instructed by CNN to address a “personal situation,” Confider said.

Sciutto traveled to Ukraine in February, March and April this year.

May 1st, Sciutto posted a photo of Polandwhere CNN correspondents were flown out after covering the war.

CNN has had a tumultuous year. Chris Cuomo has been fired from the network for allegedly helping his brother, disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo, with his scandals. Jeff Zucker resigned as CNN president just weeks later after having an affair with an executive.

On Monday, former President Donald Trump filed a $475 million lawsuit against the media outlet after alleging that the network ran a “slander and defamation campaign” against him.
