Cody Simpson prepares to compete in the 2022 Australian Swimming Championships in Adelaide as he teases TV coverage of the event
He will be competing in the upcoming 2022 Australian Swimming Championships in Adelaide and now Cody Simpson has been teasing TV coverage of the race.
In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, the 25-year-old shared a teaser trailer of himself and fellow competitive swimmers for Amazon Prime Video.
“If people think I’m doing this for fun, they’re wrong,” says the singer and swimmer in the 30-second trailer, which shows him staring at the camera underwater.

The trailer also features Mack Horton and Shayna Jack, who will also compete in the championships, which will take place May 18-22.
“It’s about that time…Live and exclusive on Prime Video starting May 18,” Cody wrote on Instagram.
The competition will determine who will represent Australia in the pool at the FINA World Championships in Budapest in June and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July.

Cody included in his post the dramatic trailer Amazon Prime Video is using to promote the televised event.
Alongside his gold medal hopes, Cody recently released a new single called “Nice to Meet You.”
The musician sadly missed out on a spot at the Tokyo Olympics during the 2021 Australian Swimming Trials in June last year.

Cody, who made a bold attack on Olympic glory after many years away from the sport, finished last in the men’s 100m butterfly final.
He later revealed he hasn’t given up on his dreams of winning gold, telling the November issue of Men’s Health Magazine that he was “happy” with the result.
“My goal was to beat 52 seconds for the 100m butterfly and reach the final. It was a double-edged goal to hit that time and get to the final, so I was very pleased and relieved when I did both,” he said.
