Even though he didn’t have his skates on, Cole Caufield found a way to earn applause at the Bell Center on Thursday night.

The Canadian striker took part in the preseason game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Detroit Pistons.

In particular, accompanied by his injured teammates Chris Wideman and Christian Dvorak, Caufield sat in the front row and was able to watch as the Quebecer Luguentz Dort, to whom he conceded no less than seven inches, scored the first points of the game with an excellent throw from downtown.

CH head coach Martin St-Louis was also there.

After Dort, it will be Caufield’s turn to rock the Bell Center on Saturday, while new NHL sensation Connor Bedard will be with his Chicago Blackhawks for the Habs’ opening game.
