Cole Caufield’s work was rewarded Sunday when he won the Molson Cup for the November split, the Canadiens announced.
Caufield was named a first star twice (November 9 in Detroit and November 24 in San Jose) and a second star once (November 29 in Columbus). In 14 games in November, the left winger scored three goals and collected six assists, while also leading the Montreal team with 47 shots.
On November 9 against the Red Wings, Caufield scored the sixth overtime goal of his career in his 130th NHL game, becoming the fastest player in NHL history to achieve the feat. The 22-year-old American also leads the table this season with three goals in extra time.
Caufield also reached the 100-point mark in the NHL with an assist on November 24th.
Before Monday night’s game against the Seattle Kraken at the Bell Center, there will be a presentation honoring November’s Molson Cup winner.
