“I just wanted him to be there when his grandchildren were born. Given their love for children, it is a happy moment for everyone. “I was lucky the hospital allowed them to be there.”

Coleen also revealed that her eldest son Kai asked to be there when she gave birth to her fourth child, Cass, and accompanied her to the hospital.

She clarified that Kai wasn’t in the room when she was born, but said he came in shortly after Cass was born and cut the umbilical cord.

“He wasn’t in the room when I gave birth because it’s a beautiful moment, but not very nice to look at. “So he was in the waiting room next door.”

She added: “I had Cass and then [Kai] was brought into the room and we said, “Would you like to cut the cord?” and he did it with no problem. I have it on video and I’m watching it again, it’s just a beautiful moment.”

Coleen also reflected on a miscarriage before giving birth to her four sons, admitting Wayne was “really struggling” with the devastating news.

Her first of two miscarriages occurred just months after she and Wayne married in a 14th-century abbey in Santa Margherita on the Italian Riviera.

Coleen, who also opened up about her miscarriages in her new book My Account, said Wayne had always wanted a child and had struggled after they lost the baby.

She said, “Wayne really struggled with this.” I feel like I have to say, “It’s not just about the women, we have to care about the men too.” I feel like they’re forgetting become.

“He once said, ‘I know it’s hard for you, but it’s hard for me too.’ It was only when he said that to me that I realized, ‘You’re right, it’s true.’ He wanted the baby just as much, if not more, than me.”

Coleen admitted she was a lot more “nervous” about becoming pregnant again with her eldest son Kai after a miscarriage.

She continued: “Then I was a lot more nervous.” [in the first pregnancy] You know, the joy of pregnancy overcame the fears, but I didn’t really think about the health side.

“You know, of course I did everything by the book and was healthy, but of course I didn’t focus so much on the baby’s health. The second time it was on my mind constantly.

“And I’ve had myself checked and scanned more regularly than I ever should have. Record number of scans, I think, and it shouldn’t be like that, you know, it’s just kept me healthy and happy.”

Coleen later suffered a second devastating miscarriage after giving birth to her two eldest sons, Kai and Klay.

She wrote about her second miscarriage in her book My Account: “It’s devastating when something like this happens; Of course it is. However, this time I had slightly different feelings about it.

“I knew that I had two healthy boys and that I would most likely have another when the time was right. “I wasn’t as nervous about it anymore.”
