Colin Kaepernick has been training for the past few weeks with hopes of returning to the NFL, and on Wednesday he said he had “talks” with Seattle Seahawks management about tryouts.
Kaepernick worked with Seahawks wide receiver Aaron Fuller this week and last week with wide receiver Tyler Lockett. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who once led the team to the Super Bowl told reporters that he spoke with coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider.

“Still waiting for this chance. Still hopeful,” he told The Seattle Times. “There was a lot of talk about it. Again, we had conversations with Pete and John earlier. As Pete mentioned, we spoke recently and (I) still hope that the door is open and I have a chance to go through it. This.”
He posted videos of his workouts on social media. He insists he hasn’t lost a second, despite being 34 and not playing in the NFL since the 2016 season. He just needs a chance.
“The best way to find out is to bring me to a workout,” he said. “We have no expectations of what the teams will do. But we just want to walk in the door and show them what I’m capable of and I think my talent, my skill set will speak for itself.”

David Robinson, Kaepernick’s personal trainer, told TMZ Sports on Tuesday that about five teams have approached him for a quarterback.
“Several teams have contacted me and asked what his hand looks like,” he told the publication. “They contacted and asked about him.”
Robinson did not say which teams, but added that he told representatives that he thought Kaepernick could be on the NFL roster if the team chose to go that route.
“He definitely has the opportunity to play in someone’s line-up – for example, right now,” he said. “For example, a couple of guys who were in the session, who were on NFL teams, said his hand was as strong as the guys we got on our list right now who can play.”
The Seahawks seem like a potential landing spot for Kaepernick, given the franchise’s past flirtation with the quarterback and the trade of Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, which leaves the door open for a new player in the 2022 season.

The former quarterback started an NFL storm in the 2016 season when he protested during the national anthem. The demonstration has sparked a wave in recent years, with players of all sports using kneeling as a form of protest against social injustice and racial discrimination.
