We’ve reached mid-November as the college football calendar nears its end for the regular season, and several conference and division championship races could be completed by Saturday. No. 1 Georgia can win the SEC East with a win over Mississippi State on the road in Starkville, No. 4 TCU would secure a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game if able, No. 18 Texas in Austin to upset, and No. 18 Texas at Austin 15. North Carolina could wrap up the ACC Coastal if it can win at Wake Forest.
There are many other scenarios that can bring the final weeks of the regular season into focus. It’s going to be a busy Saturday across the country, so here’s a handy viewer’s guide to help you navigate the action. All times Easter.
The best games
Missouri in No. 5 Tennessee – Noon on CBS, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App: The Volunteers were knocked off the top spot in the College Football Playoff rankings last week after being smoked out by Georgia. The Tigers have a pretty strong defense by any measure, so it will be fascinating to see Vols coach Josh Heupel attacking the Tigers to rack up some style points going down the stretch.
No. 7 LSU in Arkansas – Noon on ESPN, fuboTV (Try it for free): The Golden Boot fight has seen some crazy games in the past, but the Tigers are hoping to avoid a chaos scenario now that they’re in the driver’s seat of SEC West. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is about to enter the Heisman Trophy race and is facing an underperforming defense. Additionally, the Tigers can bag the SEC West title with a win over the Razorbacks and a loss of Ole Miss to Alabama.
No. 9 Alabama at No. 11 Ole Miss — 3:30 p.m. on CBS, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App: The Crimson Tide have lost two of their last three and travel to Oxford to take on a Rebels squad who have had two weeks to prepare under manager Lane Kiffin. The Tide has been very undisciplined on the road this year so that needs to change if it’s to avoid another upset.
#22 UCF at #17 Tulane — 3:30 p.m. on ESPN, fuboTV (Try it for free): The Green Wave is leading the race to bid the Group of Five for a New Year’s Six Bowl game, and this will be their biggest game in more than a generation. Knights Superstar quarterback John Rhys Plumlee was beaten up last week and his status could be a big factor in this case.
#1 Georgia in the State of Mississippi – 7 p.m. on ESPN, fuboTV (Try it for free): Is this a trap game for Georgia? Maybe. Last week’s emotional win over Tennessee is in the rearview mirror, and Starkville will be rocking on Saturday night. Mississippi State’s airstrike has been dangerous all season, so it will lie on Georgia’s secondary side to play smart and make open tackles on the passes underneath that pollute the Mississippi State game plan.
#25 Washington, #6 Oregon — 7 p.m. on Fox, fuboTV (Try it for free): The Ducks defense will have to do its job against a Huskies-passing offensive that has established itself as one of the most dynamic and enduring units in the country. Ducks quarterback Bo Nix was floating around in the Heisman Trophy race, and another great performance on national TV could propel him into the fray and keep his team in the CFP race.
No. 4 TCU at No. 18 Texas — 7:30 p.m. on ABC, fuboTV (Try it for free): The Horned Frogs are surprising underdogs against a Texas team that has quietly recovered and made their way into the top 20. Sonny Dykes’ Horned Frogs have lived on the sidelines for their last three games with slow starts and it will be interesting to see if they can repeat the feat if it happens again in front of a hostile Austin crowd.
