A spokesman for the local fire brigade said a collision between a train and a truck northwest of Warsaw left 22 people injured, three of them seriously.
In the morning, “a commuter train rammed a truck on an unprotected passage near Plonsk,” some 65 kilometers northwest of the Polish capital, Janusz Majewski, spokesman for the local fire service, told AFP.
“22 people were injured. One person was taken to hospital by helicopter, three by ambulance, while eighteen others returned home after treatment,” he added.
As a result of the collision, the train derailed and blocked the route. According to media images, the truck was completely destroyed.
The causes of the accident are not yet known.
