Colorado Supreme Court Shooting Man Arrested

Colorado Supreme Court Shooting, Man Arrested

A gunman forced his way into the Colorado Supreme Court building and opened fire, causing extensive damage before being arrested, local police said Tuesday.

This court recently declared Donald Trump unfit to run for president of the state, but a connection to the shooting had not been proven, said police in Colorado in the western United States.

The events occurred on the night of Monday to Tuesday in Denver: the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was involved in a car accident in which he pointed his rifle at another motorist.

He then shot from a window of the Supreme Court building and threatened an unarmed security guard.

According to police, the suspect got to the 6th floor of the building, where he opened fire several times.

He turned himself in to law enforcement about two hours later.

“There is significant and extensive damage to the building. “The investigation is still ongoing,” said police, who reported no injuries.

“At this time, it is believed that this is unrelated to previous threats against Colorado Supreme Court justices,” she added.

The Colorado Supreme Court declared Donald Trump ineligible for election on December 19 due to his stance during the attack on the Capitol in Washington on January 6, 2021. This decision, which caused a stir, was followed by another similar decision by the State of Maine on December 28th.

The United States Supreme Court – the highest court in the land – is expected to decide this issue in the coming months.
