Do you remember French or ferdy what I have already mentioned several times on my website?
Well, here’s a little new model called Ferdium that’s directly inspired by it.
ferdium is therefore a desktop application that allows you to concentrate all your favorite applications and services in one place.
Ferdium is based on French, a software that thousands of people are already using and with which it is fully compatible. If you already had a Franz account, you can simply keep using that account with Ferdium and nothing is lost!
And if you are already a Ferdi user and want to switch to Ferdium, you can also run migration scripts to transfer your existing profile.
Above all, however, Ferdium offers additional features that you should normally like if you liked Franz.
One of those amazing features is the ability to create different workspaces. Thanks to them, you will have everything useful right in front of your eyes and will not be overwhelmed by a multitude of tabs and windows. So you can separate your work from your private time and concentrate on the essentials.
Another feature of Ferdium is that you can easily add your own custom services. Just add them and enjoy them right in the app.
You also have the option to customize the Ferdium UI with a custom.css file.
In addition, with one Ferdium account it is possible to access your services and workspaces on all your computers. So you are always and everywhere connected to your favorite services.
And since it is common for certain services to consume more resources than necessary, thereby slowing down your computer, Ferdium offers you the possibility to hibernate unused services to avoid slowdowns and optimize performance.
Ferdium is also careful to protect your privacy. Notifications will not reveal any personally identifiable information, but will keep you updated if necessary.
In summary, Ferdium is a “fork” from Franz, with quite nice features while ignoring the useless ones. It is available for Mac, Windows and Linux.
