Several sectoral policy agreements were concluded on Saturday evening in connection with the labor dispute between the Common Front and the government.
First, the Federation of Education Professionals of Quebec, the FPPE (CSQ), received a proposal for a global regulation at its sectoral table.

The union, which represents 58 school service centers, will now present this proposal to its Federal Council on December 27th.
If this body adopts the proposal, it will therefore become an agreement in principle and can be presented to the members of the FPPE.
In recent days, negotiations between the union and the employers' bargaining committee for French-language school service centers have intensified.
The proposal targets the sectoral working conditions of professionals in 58 school service centers across Quebec. The association represents 19 unions with around 12,500 members, including engineers, analysts, educational consultants, librarians, psychologists, psychopedagogues, speech therapists, special education teachers and career counselors.
The FPPE also ensures that negotiations on the collective bargaining agreements of its members on the English, Cree and Kativik school boards continue.
Finally, the union points out that the problem regarding the issues at the central table remains.
“The salary issues must be resolved in order to prevent an unlimited general strike by the Common Front at the beginning of 2024,” demands the FPPE (CSQ).
Basic sector agreement for the FPPC
The Federation of Professional College Personnel (FPPC) also announced that delegates from its 38 unions had agreed in principle to an industry agreement.
“So we’re halfway there. Now we must recognize the value of our work in a global agreement,” says the union group.
Insurance, wages, retirement, regional differences and parental rights are among the issues on which the government and unions still disagree.
Hypothesis of principle agreement for the FEESP-CSN
For its part, the FEESP-CSN School Sector Negotiating Committee (Association of Public Service Employees) also reached “a hypothesis of fundamental agreement with the Employers' Negotiating Committee for French-speaking School Service Centers (CPNCF) and the Employers' Negotiating Committee for English-speaking School Authorities (CPNCA) on sectoral matters affecting the working conditions of school support staff,” confirmed the FEESP-CSN on Facebook on Saturday evening.
The hypothesis has yet to be presented to union delegates.
The FEESP-CSN also wanted to point out that the issues at the central table were still under discussion, especially salary issues, in order to avoid an indefinite general strike in 2024.
Once an agreement has been reached, general meetings will take place.
