Communist Party of Vietnam assesses the socio economic situation

At this meeting, many important, complex and sensitive issues will be discussed and decided that are of great importance for the fulfillment of the Central Committee’s political tasks until the end of its mandate, said party general secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in his opening speech.

The Vietnamese supreme leader referred to the current international context, which he said is characterized by rapid, complex, unpredictable and unprecedented changes that negatively impact the implementation of the country’s socio-economic development goals and tasks.

In this sense, and as reported by the VNA news agency, he pointed out that macroeconomic stability is not yet solid due to strong pressure from foreign markets, while economic activity and the lives of workers are facing difficulties.

He added that business resilience has weakened following the Covid-19 pandemic, while the social security, law and order and peace situation remains potentially complex in certain areas.

However, he stressed that Vietnam is a leading country in fighting poverty and implementing the Millennium Development Goals and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

In another part of his speech, Phu Trong assessed the 10-year implementation of the resolution of the Fifth Plenum of the Central Committee of the XI PCV. mandate and in this context emphasized that the Indochinese nation recorded significant material and spiritual successes and the lives of the population improved.

The PCV General Secretary also called on participants in the plenary session to carefully study and decide on the resolution to further promote the tradition of great national unity and build an ever more powerful, prosperous, civilized and happier country.

He also called for identifying the advantages and opportunities to be exploited and the challenges to be overcome in order to resolutely protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the homeland, political stability and environment to maintain peace for the development of the country with a socialist orientation.

The plenary session of the PCV Central Committee will also consider the state financial and budget program for 2024-2026, the roadmap for the implementation of the new salary regime, and summarize the implementation of party decisions on various social policy issues in 2012-2012. 2020 stage, among others.
