Behind the scenes of the Dona Beja remake’s arrival on HBO Max, there are a number of complaints from actors

After 37 years of first broadcast, the soap opera Dona Beja, produced by HBO Max, is expected to deliver 40 chapters and write its catalog in 2024, but until the premiere, the production team of the plot experienced a far from pleasant atmosphere behind the scenes. According to O Globo’s Anna Luiza Santiago, the series’ actors raised a number of complaints while filming the scenes.
Of the complaints raised, most cases involve actors complaining about lastminute scene changes. Since then, they have received frequent supplements. In addition, they criticize the fact that most sequences have to be created in one sitting and there is no possibility of rerecording, which creates uncertainty. The Portuguese director Hugo de Sousa will direct the work.
Shot in a picturesque town in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro, Dona Beja tells the story of Ana Jacinta, who after a heartbreak opens a brothel and becomes a famous courtesan in Araxá, Minas Gerais. Originally shown in 1986, Maitê Proença was the central figure.
In the 2024 version, Grazi Massafera will play the protagonist and form a love triangle with David Junior and André Luiz Miranda. Roberto Bomtempo and Deborah Evelyn will be villains. Bianca Bin will play a rival to the main character. Otavio Muller and Kelzy Ecard will play a couple, the parents of Catharina Caiado’s character. They will have a grandson, played by Paulo Mendes. Bukassa Kabengele, Thalma de Freitas, Luciano Quirino, Gabriel Godoy and Erika Januza also play prominent roles.
