Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah are seen for the first time in exclusive photos obtained by , chatting in the prison yard where they are both serving sentences for fraud.
Holmes, 40, dressed in her matching prison-issued khakis, could be seen smiling down at the petite Shah, 50, as they walked outside with fellow inmates at the federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas.
The high-profile couple struck up an unlikely friendship while in prison: The Bravo star became a workout instructor and the millionaire pharmaceutical fraudster attended many of their classes.
Holmes even took Shah's motherly advice — and the two convicts helped each other get through their incarceration, according to sources.

The sighting came after it was reported that the couple had “bonded” with Holmes, who had taken maternal advice and training courses from Shah. “Jen gets all the ladies together and they get behind her while she teaches them fitness exercises, and Elizabeth was on board immediately,” said Shah's manager

The low-security prison is a far cry from their opulent lifestyles in Salt Lake City, Utah and San Diego, California. Instead, the millionaire inmates share quad rooms with dormitory-style bunk beds.

Holmes left her blonde hair down, wore glasses and chose not to wear a jacket like Shah did.
The con friends met just before visiting hours on Sunday when Holmes' husband, children, parents and friends stopped by to celebrate her 40th birthday.
Photos obtained by showed the beaming entrepreneur as she held her two-year-old son and packed on the PDA with husband Billy Evans, who had arrived from their $9 million San Diego home.
Holmes is nine months into her 11-year prison sentence for fraud and conspiracy for making false claims to investors about her revolutionary blood testing methods that used tiny amounts of blood, such as from a finger prick. Shah began her six-and-a-half-year prison sentence in February 2023 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering.
Their telemarketing scam deceived thousands of people and lasted almost a decade. She was ordered to forfeit $6,500,000 and 30 luxury items.
Shah's long-time manager Chris Giovanni previously told that she is “doing great and has successfully rehabilitated during her time at FPC Bryan.”
He also revealed that she was nicknamed “Jen Fonda” because she created a 30- to 60-minute abdominal training class branded “Shah-mazing,” and said Holmes was a regular participant.
“Jen gets all the ladies together and they get behind her while she teaches them fitness exercises, and Elizabeth was right on board,” he said.

While they are forced to sleep in dormitories, Bryan inmates are allowed to purchase hobby items such as crochet hooks at the store for $1.30 each.
When Holmes first reported to prison last spring, sources told that she appeared “twitching” with nervousness and was “looking around from side to side.” But nine months later, her nervousness seemed to have faded as she was seen chatting animatedly with other inmates, including Shah.
Federal officials have also confirmed that Holmes will be eligible for release for good behavior nearly two years earlier than planned.
The US Bureau of Prisons currently expects Holmes to be released on December 29, 2032 – 115 months, or just over 9.5 years, from the start of her sentence.
