Conflicts in the Middle East: Itamaraty rescues 33 Brazilians who were in the West Bank

O Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 33 Brazilians were there West Bank and who had expressed interest in repatriation were rescued this Wednesday. 1. Brazilians from 12 families 12 men, 10 women and 11 children were taken to the city of Jericho in buses and vans rented from the Brazilian mission in Ramallah.

In Jericho, the Brazilians completed the migration process and were instructed to cross the border with Jordan, where they boarded another bus and were taken to the capital, Amman. There they boarded a federal government plane that flew to Brasília air base.

For security reasons, the vehicles were marked with the Brazilian flag and the license plates, routes and passenger lists were shared with the Palestinian and Israeli authorities.

According to Itamaraty, the returnees will have as their final destination the cities of Foz de Iguaçu, São Paulo, Florianópolis, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Curitiba, Goiânia, Brasília and Porto Alegre.

Repatriation is another chapter in the Operation Return in Peacelaunched by the federal government after the start of the war between Israel and Israel Hamas. Eight planes have already arrived from Israel and one from Jordan, a total of 1,443 Brazilians and three Bolivians, as well as 53 pets that will be repatriated from Jordan after the flight is completed.

In Brazil, the final destination of the returnees will be the cities of Foz de Iguaçu, São Paulo, Florianópolis, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Curitiba, Goiânia, Brasília and Porto Alegre.

This Wednesday, Dozens of foreigners and Palestinian dual citizens began leaving the Gaza Strip and cross the Egypt through the Rafah Pass. This was the first time since the conflict began that the border was opened for people to leave, but Brazilians were not included in the list.

“New lists will be published soon and our Brazilians must be on them,” said Ambassador Candeas.
