Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard has had just two shots on goal in his last three games.
He was unable to test the goalies of the Colorado Avalanche (October 19) and Boston Bruins (October 24). He threw twice toward the Vegas Golden Knights cage (October 21), scoring his second win of the season.

The very first pick in the last National Hockey League draft wanted to have a calming effect.
“I think I could shoot more at the net, but I’m not just a shooter,” said Bedard, whose comments were reported by the website nhl.com. If the opportunity isn’t good, I try to make a pass. Players are good at blocking shot angles. If I get the chance, I will shoot. If not, I’ll try to find another game.
For his part, Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson said Bedard’s low shooting percentage could be explained by his team being in the defensive zone too often.
“It has a domino effect on guys who are more used to having more options on offense,” he said.
“I think Connor is like everyone else. We have to find a way to start faster. Even if the puck goes between a defender’s legs and we try to pass behind him to take advantage of a rebound, there’s a good chance it won’t work because the shot lacks speed.
Bedard and the Blackhawks returned to action Friday night, facing the Golden Knights again.
