You didn’t think Conor McGregor would just let Joe Rogan shoot him without returning one, did you?
In a recent episode of his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify, the popular UFC commentator made it very clear that he believes McGregor was using performance-enhancing drugs while he was off the US Anti-Doping Agency’s program for several months was and not tested all year round.
“He’s constantly taking his shirt off and posing, and he looks like his pee will melt that USADA mug,” Rogan said. “Like just burning a hole right through the bottom of this USADA mug. … The odd thing is that there is a loophole in USADA that allows you to get out of the testing pool. You can leave the test pool and just fill up on juice.”
In response, McGregor shot Rogan on social media and accused him of using PEDs. McGregor’s post featured side-by-side photos of a shirtless Rogan, showing how muscular he was at age 25 compared to 52. Rogan is now 55.
“Joe looks like his pee is going to melt his knickers,” McGregor wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “In the company that fought so long and never hahaha @ufc oh taekwondo competition call the police hahahahaah.”
USADA, the UFC’s anti-doping partner, recently confirmed McGregor is not in the testing pool and will not be tested for banned substances. While McGregor, 34, has indicated he did so for therapeutic reasons to properly recover from a broken tibia sustained in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, granting such permission raises concerns aroused in other UFC fighters — particularly as Rogan noted: McGregor constantly flaunts his muscular physique on social media.
McGregor, who has been 1-3 in his last four fights, must spend at least six months in the USADA program before fighting again for the UFC. It is expected that he could return in the summer at the earliest, possibly during International Fight Week in July.
