The core lived under the belief that they were being controlled and had to withstand a siege. The situation worsened during the pandemic. Always in a coma the sole survivor

The family, who committed suicide by jumping from the balcony of their seventhfloor apartment just days ago in Montreux, Switzerland, were obsessed with conspiracy theories, feared all contact with the outside world and had stuffed the house with food to the unbelievable if they believed one to withstand a long siege. This was announced by the police of the canton of Vaud, who are dealing with the tragic fate of the father, mother, two children aged 15 and 8 and the latter’s aunt, the mother’s twin sister. From the whole core only the fifteenyearold boy who survived the escape from the balcony, but is in a coma in the hospital.

The investigation formally ruled out the involvement of third parties and classified the incident as a collective suicide. No signs of the presence of strangers were found in the apartment on Avenue du Casin, in the heart of the elegant Lake Geneva resort. A ladder leaned against the balcony. Frightening detail: The family members would have thrown themselves into the void one after the other within a period of about five minutes. Other details that emerged from the beginning were confirmed: the family originally came from France, asi had moved to Montreux in 2016, the younger daughter was not even registered in the local registry office. She and her mother had even moved to Morocco a few years ago.

The picture in front of which the investigators found themselves during the check after the collective suicide was impressive: most of the rooms in the house were crammed with supplies of food or the bare essentials, neither parents nor children had any contact with the outside world, they lived in a kind of hermitage , but in the heart of a city, with very little contact with neighbors. According to testimonies collected by the investigation, the situation had deteriorated significantly during the pandemic. The father would have been obsessed with conspiracy theories, he believed he was being controlled, he avoided any contact for his relatives.

The dynamics of the tragedy have also been confirmed: on Thursday at 7 a.m. the police rang the bell in the apartment on the seventh floor on Avenue du Casin. They had to give the parents an invitation from the school authorities because the 15yearold boy had not been to school for months, although he was enrolled in a secondary school in Montreux. A voice from inside answered but didn’t answer. The agents left, and a few minutes later, a tenant of the building saw the bodies fall off the balcony one by one and tumble into a courtyard of the house.
