Quebec’s Nicolas Aubé-Kubel accepted a one-year, $1.225 million contract extension from the Washington Capitals on Friday.

This was confirmed by the team from the American capital at the beginning of the afternoon.
Aubé-Kubel, 26, signed a one-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs last summer, but the Caps called him out on Nov. 5. He has eight points in 36 games since the beginning of the campaign.
The former Philadelphia Flyers and Colorado Avalanche had 205 career games in the National Hockey League and had 58 points. At juniors he excelled with the Val-d’Or Foreurs, hitting 38 goals in each of his last two seasons.
