A row has broken out over two “alien corpses” displayed in Mexico this week. An American UFO specialist criticized the “unfounded trick.”
The bodies were revealed to a stunned Mexican Congress by journalist and UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan and forensic scientist Dr. Jose Zalce Benitez revealed.
But the presentation sparked a swift backlash from Marine Lt. Ryan Graves, who had attended U.S. Congressional hearings on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), calling it a “major step backwards.”
In a subsequent press conference today, Mr. Maussan said he was disappointed by the comments, while Dr. Benitez urged scientists to take samples of the suspected alien bodies and conduct their own studies.
He also warned skeptics who called the “discovery” a hoax to be aware that their claims could destroy his life’s work.

Navy Lt. Gen. Ryan Graves, who has attended U.S. Congressional hearings on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), called the presentation a “major step backwards.”
Graves wrote after the hearing that he was “disappointed by this unfounded stunt.”
The Mexican journalist and UFO expert Jaime Maussan observed the “non-human” creatures before a press conference today
Mr. Maussan testified under oath before Mexican lawmakers that “we are not alone in the universe” and displayed the alleged remains of nonhuman beings.
At Tuesday’s hearing on FANI, politicians were shown two artifacts by the journalist who claimed they were alien corpses.
The specimens have nothing to do with life on Earth, Mr. Maussan said.
The two tiny “bodies,” displayed in cases, have three fingers on each hand and elongated heads. Mr Maussan said they were recovered in Peru in 2017 near the old Nazca Lines. He said they are about 1,000 years old and were analyzed through a carbon dating process by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
But skeptics questioned the authenticity of his presentation, and Lt Graves wrote down
“Unfortunately, yesterday’s demonstration was a major step backwards on this issue.” The focus of my testimony was to share my experiences and the UAP reports I hear from civilian and military aircrew through the ASA’s witness program.
“I will continue to raise awareness that UAP is an urgent aerospace security, national security and science matter, but I am deeply disappointed by this unfounded ploy.”
The bodies shown at the convention were roughly humanoid in shape. But a retractable neck and long skull exhibit features “more typical of birds,” El País reported

They were also found to have strong, light bones and no teeth, the presenters said
Mr Maussan said that while similar discoveries in the past had been found to be the remains of mummified children, this was the first time such evidence had been presented.
He added: “I think there is clear evidence that we are dealing with non-human specimens that are not related to any other species in our world and that every scientific institution has every opportunity to study them. ” We are not alone.’
Dr. Benitez said X-rays, 3D reconstruction and DNA analysis were carried out on the remains, adding: “I can confirm that these bodies have nothing to do with humans.”

Congressional experts showed apparent X-rays of the samples and said one of the creatures was carrying “eggs” with embryos inside.
They said they had implants made of cadmium and osmium metals.
Osmium is one of the rarest elements in the earth’s crust and is considered the rarest precious metal.
Researchers are said to have carbon dated the remains and determined they were more than 1,000 years old

UNAM on Thursday reissued a statement first published in 2017 saying the work of its National Laboratory for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (LEMA) was only intended to determine the age of the samples.
“In no case do we draw any conclusions about the origin of the samples in question,” it said.
Mexican lawmakers also heard from Lt Graves, who testified earlier this year about “UAP” sightings and government classification. In July, he made claims about the threat UAPs pose to America’s national security.
Lt Graves claimed that UFOs were an “open secret” in the military and stated that his squadron regularly discovered unidentified objects while stationed near Virginia in 2014.
Congressman Sergio Gutierrez said he hoped the hearing would be the first of another similar event in Mexico.
“We are left with considerations, concerns and the way to continue to talk about it,” Mr. Gutierrez said.
In recent years, the U.S. government has made a U-turn on public information about UAP after decades of obstruction and distraction.
The Pentagon has actively investigated reported sightings by military aircraft in recent years, while an independent NASA panel investigating UFOs is the first of its kind by the space agency.

The dispute comes as NASA prepares to release the results of a long-awaited study of unexplained flying objects in Earth’s skies.
The US space agency announced last year that it was examining evidence of UAPs – which has replaced the term “UFO” in official usage.
The topic has long fascinated the public but has been shunned by mainstream science.
An independent team of 16 researchers shared their preliminary observations in May, finding that existing data and eyewitness accounts are insufficient to draw firm conclusions, while calling for more systematic collection of high-quality data.
Thursday’s report is unlikely to change that end result — but it could ultimately signal the start of a new mission for the agency.
As NASA’s probes and rovers scour the solar system for fossils of ancient microbes and its astronomers look for signs of intelligent civilizations on distant planets, their historical approach is to “debunk” sightings on our home planet.
Over 27 years, more than 800 “events” have been recorded, of which 2 to 5 percent are considered potentially abnormal, the report’s authors said during the May meeting.
These are defined as “anything that is not readily understandable to the operator or the sensor” or “something that does something strange,” said team member Nadia Drake.

The U.S. government has begun to take the issue of UAPs more seriously in recent years, in part because of concerns that they are linked to foreign surveillance.
NASA’s work, which relies on unclassified material, is separate from a Pentagon investigation, although the two coordinate on issues related to the use of scientific tools and methods.
In July, a former U.S. intelligence officer made headlines when he told a congressional committee that he “absolutely” believed the government was in possession of unknown anomalous phenomena – as well as the remains of their alien operators.
“My testimony is based on information given to me by individuals with longstanding legitimacy and service to this country – many of whom also provided compelling evidence in the form of photographs, official documentation and secret oral testimony,” David Grusch told lawmakers.
