Former Coronation Street actress Vicky Entwistle has revealed that she plans to write a full-length book about her time on the ITV soap opera.

The 53-year-old actress – who played the straight-laced Janice Battersby for 14 years – is said to have revealed many of the show’s secrets and even enlisted the help of some of her former co-stars.

According to The Sun, Vicky will also explain the reasons behind her shocked departure from the high-profile role in 2010.

Taking to Twitter, Vicky wrote, “I’m thinking about writing my memoir,” before reaching out to Denise Welch and Gaynor Faye, who played Natalie Barnes and Judy Mallett, respectively.

She added: “@RealDeniseWelch @MsGfaye Any moments I missed are greatly appreciated! Vic x’.

Vicky had previously explained that she left the soap due to exhaustion and found fame to be a huge challenge.

Speaking to The Mirror last year, she explained: “I wasn’t prepared for the attention. It was like being dropped into the sea when you can’t really swim.

“When I left, I really wanted to find some peace.”

Playing lazybones Les’s wife and mother to Toyah and Leanne, her exit story involved leaving Weatherfield for London with new boyfriend Trevor Dean (Steve Jackson).

It comes after Vicky announced she was quitting acting due to a “lack of respect” from industry bosses.

In a now-deleted tweet Wednesday, she wrote that she was done with showbiz after showing up for auditions but never received any feedback from directors.

On her account, she wrote: “Just had a couple of Zoom auditions. Half of me thinks I’m lucky.

Discussing further auditions, she fumed, “It only cost me 80 pounds of gas. Most of the time, they don’t even confirm you even showed up! ! The respect has flown from this industry! I’m retiring!’

One fan told her: “You are an absolutely phenomenal actress, they should be the lucky ones you visited!! Please don’t retire xx.’

She later tweeted, “In trouble again for my menopausal symptoms!!!”

Away from the cobblestones, Vicky was last seen on BBC One’s Holby City in 2019.

Vicky also appeared in the 12th series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and caused an uproar after calling Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby a “fat shit from Newcastle” in a heated argument.

She was evicted on Day 23 while TV favorite Charlotte won the series.
