“I heard and believe it was because of a friend [François] Bouchard, who would have had contact with Santiago. He swore to me that he hadn’t touched her and that he didn’t want to touch her, but the other guy was paranoid and thought Santiago had touched his girlfriend. “Santiago promised me he didn’t do anything, so it’s not a drug thing, it’s a stupid girl thing,” she mentions on condition of anonymity.

According to the indictment filed, the murder of Santiago Gaona was committed “between September 8 and 16” in Candiac.

However, his death was announced to members of his entourage in late August.

“When I got the call on August 31 that he had shot himself in the head, I couldn’t believe it because Santiago was full of joy. He’s alive, this little guy. »

The person who spoke to TVA Nouvelles says she was supposed to go to a party with him a few days before his death.

“Santiago wanted to go there to have fun with some friends and I was supposed to join him, but I changed my mind because I didn’t like the type of person he was with, so I decided not to to go […] In the evening he called me to pick him up. He was very persistent, but I told him that I couldn’t get him and that it would be tomorrow. »

A few hours later, she received a call she had been dreading.

“The next day around noon I got a call that Santiago had shot himself in the head, so I freaked out [en sanglots]. I reacted very strongly because he is a good little boy and has given me a lot since he has been in my life. »

Surprised, she tried to get answers from former acquaintances.

“I contacted people from my past to find out who lived at the address where Santiago had stayed the day before […] When they called me again to give me news about Santiago, they wanted to tell me that he was finally tied up in the garage. »

“I made a few calls to try and free him. They weren’t threats, they were promises because I loved him very much and it was certain that it wouldn’t last. He was like a son. »
