With Tyrone Dobbs secretly planning a Christmas Day wedding for him and Fiz Brown, there’s no better time to look back at how the last 21 years have led to this moment.
And in a new interview, Coronation Street’s Fiz and Tyrone were taken on a trip down memory lane as Jennie McAlpine and Alan Halsall look back on their first on-screen kiss in 2001.
The soap opera favorites sat down with their Corrie co-star Colson Smith for Catch Up With Colson on Coronation Street’s YouTube channel.
First kiss! In a new interview, Corries Fiz and Tyrone were taken on a trip down memory lane as Jennie McAlpine and Alan Halsall look back on their first on-screen kiss in 2001
In addition to discussing the upcoming romantic Christmas wedding plan, the couple also relive some of the key moments of their on-screen love story, from their first kiss in 2001 to last year’s celebratory battle on the cobblestones.
And with all that history to draw on, Colson challenged her to a Brown and Dobbs Christmas quiz to see if they really match under the mistletoe.
Jennie gushed, “It’s nice to see some of the early scenes, it’s been so long and you forget things you did together.”
She added, “It’s very funny looking back at some of the hair and fashion choices!”
Alan admitted: “I was nervous about taking the quiz as Jennie is a quiz fan and knows so much about the show. You have to see who comes out on top.”

It comes as Corrie viewers caught sight of Tyrone plotting a secret Christmas Day wedding for Fiz after two decades of on-off dating.
The mechanic will pull out all the stops for his love on a special day and does his best to hide the details from Fiz – he even gives her disappointing chocolates and a key ring to throw her off the trail.
However, the wedding will go awry as reports say the bride will be missing on the big day.
Ahead of the dramatic episodes, actors Alan and Jennie told Web and other members of the press what it’s like to be branded as the new Jack and Vera.
Alan admitted: “I shy away from that as much as possible, for me Jack and Vera were on their own.”
Eek! Jennie confessed, “It’s very funny looking back at some of the hair and fashion choices!”
“I think she’s absolutely brilliant. I’d like to be Tyrone and Fiz’.
Jennie agreed, saying: “Likewise, it’s always so nice to be asked that and the fact that they’re always remembered through Tyrone’s history with them and there’s a picture of them in their house and we still have their bar .”
‘Living in her house is an absolute pleasure’.
A source told The Sun of the festive plot: “Tyrone manages to keep it so secret that Fiz angrily thinks he hasn’t made any Christmas plans.
“She sets out on Christmas Day to try and get things for dinner, but her car breaks down and she has no phone signal.
“Back in Weatherfield everyone is now ready for the wedding. The big question is: ‘Will they not?’.’
Catch Up With Colson is available Monday, December 19th at 5pm PST
