Cosculluela’s ex partner files charges for violating protection order

The ex-partner of urban music singer José Fernando Cosculluela Suárez, accused of gender-based violence, filed a complaint on Tuesday for violating a protection order in relation to comments published on his social networks that he felt were insulted.

According to the document, at 3:00 p.m. on January 17, the complainant claimed that she saw on the social network Twitter that Cosculluela Suárez wrote a message that read: “You are one of those who issue bills… bills to me at the end of the month, everything down to the toothpaste” and refers to a phrase from the song by the Colombian Shakira and BZRP, dedicated to her ex-partner Gerard Piqué.

The complainant assumes that the message was addressed to her personally.

The case is being consulted with Prosecutor Daniel Feliciano and Humacao Municipal Police Officer Gilberto Carrión to assess whether the elements of the crime are present. The preliminary hearing of the original case is scheduled for February 15.

On October 14, 2022, Judge Carlos Capó of the Humacao Court found that Cosculluela Suárez had been arrested on 13 counts of ill-treatment under Law 54 for the Prevention and Intervention in Domestic Violence and on two counts of violations of the Law de Armas. following a complaint from his ex-wife, Jennifer Fungenzi Jaques. The artist was released in restraints under electronic surveillance by posting $240,000 bail.

By the time the charges were brought, the Justice Department had revealed that the pattern of abuse his ex-wife denounced began in 2017 and continued through 2022.
