the British couple Joe and Jess Thwaite won the biggest prize in the history of the draw EuroMillions, the British lottery. The price of 184 million pounds equal more than BRL 1 billion at the current price and is the highest since 2019 when the amount drawn was £170m.
On May 10, the couple learned they had won the award, but the identities of the winners will only be revealed if they choose to. This Thursday the 19th, the two decided to tell the public and attended a press conference.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, Joe Thwaite verified the result via mobile phone. “When I saw the value, I dropped my phone. Then I picked it up again, looked again and thought it was thousands,” he said.
Joe waited for the woman with the alarm clock to wake up to tell the news, but Jess didn’t believe her and thought her husband was without his glasses. “Don’t be stupid,” he said at the time.
After seeing that her husband was right, Jess went to work as normal and decided to tell her mother on the way. Joe asked her not to reveal everything, but she couldn’t hide it because her motherinlaw already knew what the value was. “This award is a huge relief for my whole family, we’ve struggled for a long time with bills and all your stuff,” Jess said.
