Court files Fred Nicacios lawsuit against Key Alves for racism

Court files Fred Nicácios lawsuit against Key Alves for racism at BBB TV

After being accused of religious racism against Fred Nicácio in BBB 23, Key Alves won in court. The influencer took legal action against Key, Gustavo Benedeti and Cristian Vanelli for “biased and intolerant behavior towards religion.” However, the judge responsible decided to close the case.

The lawsuit was handled in the 26th Criminal Court of the District of the capital Rio de Janeiro and was filed by lawyer William David. Nicácio decided to sue his three fellow prisoners after seeing the scenes in which the three said they were afraid of him after seeing him say a prayer. The Key Alves team stated that in return they would sue Nicácio for libel and slander.

According to an official document published on Tuesday (4) by the newspaper O Globo, on August 17, Judge Marco JM Couto ruled that, despite the relevance of the matter, there is currently nothing that justifies filing a lawsuit. It was clear to him that the crime report should have been forwarded to the police or the public prosecutor’s office, as proceedings could only be initiated after a report was filed. For this reason the case was archived.

After learning of the decision, the volleyball player commented on social media but did not directly mention the fact. “Never believe who you are!” And never accept someone saying what you are not. Only you and God know your nature! I always knew mine,” she said.

Remember the case

Cristian, Gustavo and Key were still in Big Brother Brasil and chatting outside the house. They expressed their fear of Fred Nicácio, a follower of the Ifá cult, because he allegedly prayed to his orixás.

The act had a negative impact on the reality audience and the three were eliminated almost immediately after the attraction. At Casa do Reencontro everyone turned around, a dynamic that brought two participants who had dropped out of BBB back into the program.

At the crime scene, the tension between the four was clearly visible, and in the end Fred Nicácio and Key Alves argued and aired dirty laundry. “What you did was criminal. You caused me pain. What you did was a crime and my legal team will take legal action against you. You will have to answer for this in court,” he said.
