Courted by more than 20 NCAA teams, Quebec college football’s biggest hope is narrowing his choices to three, maybe even four, universities

With some twenty teams in his sights, including several big names from the NCAA’s top conference, Steve Pierre Bolo Mboumoua has whittled his options down to three, maybe four.

“Due to my atypical academic background and the tight deadlines, I limited my options to make my choice easier,” explained the CNDF defensive end. In addition, several teams make you offers but do not follow up on them. I’m going back to school in January to adjust to my new surroundings.”

In addition to the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he will make his official visit on Dec. 8, the 6-foot-1, 275-pound player is also considering the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Florida Gators. He doesn’t rule out a visit to the Georgia Bulldogs, the reigning national champions. His additional visits will also take place in December before the first NCAA signing period is scheduled for December 20.

“These are the three teams that follow me the most and I talk to the coaches on Facetime,” he emphasized. It’s rarer, but Georgia also gave me a sign of life. Maybe I’ll pay Georgia a visit.”

“The connection with my position coach is very, very important because I look after the 19-year-old defensive player. I’m going to spend five years of my life on this and I have to make a good choice. Alabama doesn’t necessarily start with a lead. I enjoyed my summer camp at Mississippi State. The defensive coach who sees me as a tackle gave me some tips that have served me well during my training camps.

A very busy session

This summer, Quebec college football’s biggest hope decided to move up its year of eligibility for the NCAA. “My normal year would have been 2025, but I thought that was a bit far away. I would have started at 21, while some Americans make the jump to the NFL at that age.”

Bolo Mboumoua works hard academically. “I am completing my 12th year on a correspondence basis in Ontario, in addition to taking my seven courses at CNDF,” he said. I have no time to waste. I will not complete my DEC, but I will have the necessary credits for the NCAA.

Bolo Mboumoua and the CNDF will host the Champlain College Cougars on Saturday for third place in the tournament.
