COVID 19 Statistics April 20 2022 Lost coastal outpost

Humboldt County Public Health today reported the deaths of two residents from COVID-19, one in their 70s and another aged 80 or older. Two new hospital admissions were reported, one resident in his 40’s and one in his 60’s.

A further 59 confirmed positive cases were reported and 21 new probable cases for the period between Tuesday 12th April and Tuesday 19th April. The total number of confirmed cases in the county is 17,174. An additional 3,040 cases are reported as likely.*

Local vaccination dates have been updated. Highlights include:

  • Since the last weekly report of April 13, another 683 residents have completed their vaccination series.
  • As of Tuesday, a total of 89,601 people, or about 66% of the county’s total population, were fully vaccinated.

The significant increase in fully vaccinated residents reported this week is attributed to people who have completed their vaccination series and to the state’s review and reorganization of data, which matches recipients to appropriate jurisdictions.

Earlier this week, the Transportation Security Administration announced that it would stop enforcing mask requirements on airplanes and other public transportation after a federal judge overturned the mandate. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still recommends that people wear masks on public transportation indoors.

People should stay home and away from others and get tested if they become ill or have COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue or muscle pain.
