Cowboys QB Dak Prescott isn’t staying in the league with 14 interceptions: ‘I’m on the next game’

Dak Prescott’s game was shaky at times in the first half and outstanding in the second on Thursday night.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, who extended a career-long interception streak to six games, also led his team to a sixth win in seven games with a 27-13 away win over the Tennessee Titans at Thursday Night Football. With his Cowboys at 12-4 and amassed two wins in six days, Prescott doesn’t concern himself with the interceptions or worry about style points — just the wins.

“You have to have short-term memory to play that position,” Prescott told reporters after the game. “Whether that interception you feel is your fault, not your fault, whether you throw it to the guy and lose points before half-time or not, you have to be able to turn the page and just keep going. That’s something that, honestly, I’m proud of. Obviously you’re not trying to have that adversity or cause that adversity, but good or bad I’m on to the next piece.

By the end of Thursday’s win, Prescott had threw 282 yards after 29 of 41 passes with two touchdown passes to tight end Dalton Schultz. He was also responsible for three first-half turnovers, including two interceptions, that took his season total to 14, level on points with Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr for the league-high.

About 1,200 miles west of Dallas, Carr was benched in Las Vegas earlier in the week. But despite the same number of INTs, no one is calling for Prescott’s job.

“He’s wired right, our players are wired right,” said Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. “Unfortunately in this league you go through ups and downs, that’s the beauty of how competitive this league is. This is a game that we had to get and we got it, so if we don’t get style points, that’s fine , we’re still on 12 wins.”
